Our deepest sympathies to the Mastey family. We are members of the Rockville parish which Fr. Gregory served in the past. Just by knowing Fr. Gregory, we came to know his family and what a wonderful family it is. Fr. Gregory, your dad is now watching down on you from heaven. As he was with you on earth, he will be with you from heaven continuing to inspire you with the devotion to Lord which he and your mom gifted you years ago. May John now enjoy his heavenly reward and may his surviving family find peace knowing that he is in the hands of the Heavenly Family. .

Betty and the Mastey family,
My heart is heavy as I think about the memories I have of John, and their are many, from the days of him coming over to pick up Betty for a date, family celebrations, playing cards at your house and John always getting up bringing out more food or offering another drink, up to the visits of the past few years. Please know I would like to be there now to give you each a big hug right now, instead we will grieve with you from a distance. May God help you through these difficult days.

To Aunt Betty and my cousins; our heartfelt sympathies go out to you. Uncle John was a great man, and as I’m sure you know, will be missed by many family and friends.

As a kid, I always enjoyed Uncle John’s stories and seeing the cool stuff around the farm that he bought to play with, and maybe sell later. I think some of his collecting traits may have been passed on to me!

Due to distance, we unfortunately will not be able to be at the visitation or funeral. You and your family have been, and will be, in our thoughts and prayers.

I am writing this with sorrow in my heart . . . my thoughts and prayers go out to the family of a dear cousin John Mastey.  From my earliest memories John was a great man.  Memories of childhood visits to the farms in MN from a city girl from Chicago always include John.  I remember him to be a fun, teasing, caring cousin.  I cherished my visits as a child as well as an adult to my extended family; the farms always seemed to be a wonderful, safe, mysterious place, a place that always felt like home.  So many wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins, so many different animals to see up close and personal, so many conversations to listen in on and learn about family history.  For a short time every year I was able to be a part of this wonderful life…..
Such a special man, wonderful husband and father, grandfather, friend…..  This is a loss for us, but he is home with God, he has finished his job here on earth, the lessons he has taught us will be passed on, he will live forever in our hearts and in the generations of those that come after us in the telling of our family history.
Good-bye dear cousin, till we meet again . . . Mary Gail

Betty and family, my deepest sympathies go out to all of you! How lucky we were to have seen him and visited with some of you on Saturday! It was so wonderful talking to John and reminiscing about old days. So many good memories of fun times spent by our two families over the years, and I know how close you two were with my folks!  Remember he will always be in your hearts forever!
I'll never forget you John Mastey! What a wonderful man! So caring and giving to every person in your life!
