Pearl Probasco, age 103 died Saturday, Januray 9, 2016 at Lakewood Care Center, Staples.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Ramey. The Rev. Greg Tomhave will officiate. Lunch will be served at the Bethany Lutheran Church Hall and burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Milaca.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Prayer services will be 6 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.
Pearl Probasco was born August 18, 1912 in Hillman, Minnesota to Peter and Emily (Larson) Markusen. Growing up on the farm, Pearl worked in the woods, hunted, trapped and did much of the farm work. She married Joy E. Probasco on June 5, 1932 at Mount Morris Township, Morrison County. Pearl was born and lived over 90 years of her life near Hillman. She farmed with her husband all of their married life. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Farm Bureau, LWML, Republican Party and the Eagles. Pearl enjoyed sewing and quilting, playing guitar, cooking & canning, gardening and deer hunting. She was a life member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School.
She is survived by her sons and daughter; Peter (Mary Ann), Palmer, AK; Cleo Gillespie, Phoenix, AZ; Jay (Mardelle), Pioneer, CA and Wayne (Beth) of Hillman, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joy, brothers; Vernon and Clifford and sisters; Esther Carlson and Hilma Markusen.
