Richard 'Dick' B. Rudnitski, age 73, of Apache Junction, AZ and formerly of Pierz, MN, died Tuesday February 5, 2013 at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, St. Cloud, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morrill, MN. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Foley American Legion.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour before services at the church. Parish prayers will be 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Richard Rudnitski was born February 16, 1939 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Edward and Alice (Malinowski) Rudnitski. He married Rita Byzewski July 11, 1968 in Duluth, MN. Dick attended District 42 school and graduated from Foley High School in 1956 where he participated in football and wrestling. After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy where he was stationed on the ship, BonHomme Richard. He worked at Milani Poultry in California; US Steel in Duluth; and in 1981 owned and founded R & R Tire Service in Rice. Dick always said he had no customers, only friends. They sold the business due to health issues in 2001 when they moved to Arizona. He loved fishing, hunting, racing cars, playing cribbage and watching football, especially his Green Bay Packers. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he had served on the parish council; and a member of the Rice Area Sportsman Club, where he had served on the board.

He is survived by his wife, Rita, Apache Junction, AZ; son, Richard Jr., California; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Jean (Loren) Rue, Rushford, MN; Donald (Kathy), Columbia Heights, MN; Patricia (Terry) Schultz, Longwood, FL; Thomas, Zimmerman, MN; Dennis (Roxy), OK; sister-in-laws, Barb Brenny, Theresa Archer and Fran Langner; and special godchild and niece, Melissa Archer and niece, Tammy Gorsuch.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Moulzolf, brothers, Paul and Robert, parents, father and mother-in-law, Ben and Elizabeth Byzewski; brother-in-laws, Paul and Joseph Byzewski; nephew, Brian and niece, Christy.
