Donald Brunn, age 98 of Foley, passed away June 3, 2022 at the Gardens at Foley Nursing Center. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, June 17, 2022 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. Rev. Michael Wolfbauer will officiate and burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the church. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.
Donald Raymond Brunn was born on May 2, 1924 in Benton County, Minnesota to Anthony and Freida (Biederman) Brunn. He graduated from Foley High School on June 3, 1943 and resided in the Foley area his entire life. Don was a self-employed trucker for many years hauling milk and freight. He was also passionate about farming and raised beef cattle and operated a Jack Frost Chicken barn for many years. Don was a caring and kind man who loved to help any way he could. After he retired from trucking he worked for the Foley School system helping out where ever he could. Don was active in the community, a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Bishop Marty Council, Knights of Columbus. Don and his wife Lucille were married for over 75 years and they enjoyed spending time with family including trips to see their son in Colorado, playing cards, and throwing horseshoes.
He is survived by his children: Duane (Theresa) Brunn, Brighten, CO; Nancy (Rodney) Peterson, Osceola, WI; Sandy (Terry) Sjoberg, Tower, MN; Linda (Gary) Gorecki, Oak Park; daughter-in-law, Sissy Brunn, Hillman, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; sister, Theresa Graham, New Hope; brother, Norman Brunn, New Brighton and sister-in-law, Sandy Brunn of Sauk Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lucille, 2021; son, Bruce, 2021 and brothers: George, Harold, Lawrence, Raymond, Herbert, Robert, Edward and sisters; Helen Wegman and Mary Ann Grow.
