Thora V. Millard, age 90, of Foley, MN and formerly of Alamo, ND, died Wednesday October 27, 2010 at the Foley Nursing Center, Foley, MN.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Calvary Lutheran Church, Alamo, ND. The Rev. Dan Mauer will officiate. Burial will be in the Hauge Lutheran Cemetery, Alamo, ND.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley, MN and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Alamo, ND. There is a funeral service at the Foley Funeral Home 7 p.m. Saturday. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Thora Millard was born October 7, 1920 in Williston, North Dakota to Christ and Martha (Tdvedtene) Knutson. She grew up on her family farm in Alamo, ND and graduated there in 1938. She met and married Harry Millard May 10, 1941 in Chicago, IL. They then returned to Alamo where they resided for many years, raising a family of seven. Thora was active in Ladies Aid, Sunday school, Alamo Band Mothers, 4-H Leader, homemakers club, VFW Auxiliary and also helped with the Alamo School lunch program for 8 years. After her husband's death in 1989, she moved to Williston, ND for 10 years before moving to Gilman, MN to be closer to her family. She continued with her church activities and Sr. Citizen group.

She is survived by her sons and daughters, Barbara (Jack) Semrau, Foley, MN; Sandra Koberstein, Scottsdale, AZ; Martha (Bob) Kern, Osakis, MN; Harry (Judi), Peoria, AZ; Jacqueline (Gary) Strand, Hines, MN; Krystie (Doug) Foss, Foley, MN; Michael (Jan), Kirkland, WA; 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Maurice Knutson, Helena, MT; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 3 sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: Hauge Lutheran Cemetery Fund, Alamo, ND; Calvary Lutheran Church, Alama, ND; or Bethel Home, Williston, ND.
