Rosemary Schaefer, age 92, of Foley, MN died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the Foley Nursing Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Robert Kieffer will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 Thursday (today) at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley after 9 am Friday at the funeral home.  Parish prayers will be at 5 pm Thursday. Arrangements by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.
Rosemary Schaefer was born June 7, 1918 in Foley, MN to Henry and Catherine (Wisniewski) Bettendorf.  She married Roman Schaefer March 14, 1944 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley.  She lived in Foley most of her life. Rosemary was active in the Foley community and volunteered for the Blood Mobile; Meals on Wheels; was an Election Judge for the City of Foley and volunteered for the St. John's Catholic School Library.  She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, washing laundry and was an avid walker.  Rosemary was a member of the Foley American Legion Auxiliary, the Foley Morning Glories, St. John's Catholic Church and the St. John's Christian Mothers.  She was thankful for the many friends she had in the Foley area.  Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
She is survived by her daughters; Barbara (Will) Schafer, Lakeville, MN; Rosalie (Mark) Schulte, Sartell, MN; Liz (Arnie) Schommer, Foley, MN; Sally (Mark) Metz, Sartell, MN; Karen (John) Eherenman, Foley, MN; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, sister, Helen C. Bettendorf, Foley, MN; sisters & brothers-in-law; Ruth Bettendorf, Mpls, MN; Syl Thomporowski, St.Cloud, MN; Jerry & Marie Schaefer, St. Cloud, MN; Marge Schaefer, Melrose, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roman, October 19, 2005; son, Jack, January 28, 1967; infant granddaughter, Gina; brothers and sisters, Pauline Brenny, Henry, Catherine Niedzielski, Richard, Francis, John, Mary Margaret Thomporowski  and Alice Latterell.
