Rosa Wenzel, age 81, of Oak Park, MN, died Friday April 23, 2010 at St. VA Medical Center, St. Cloud, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2010 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley, MN. The Rev. Robert Kieffer will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Foley American Legion.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley, MN and 9:30 - 10:30 am Friday at the funeral home. Parish prayers will be at 5 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.
Rosa Wenzel was born June 28, 1928 in El Paso, Texas to Lorenzo and Antonia (Tibidau) Garcia.LA. She was a US Army Nurse, serving during the Korean War. She married Vernon Wenzel June 16, 1952 at Leesville, She had lived most of her life in the Oak Park, MN area. Rosa was a nurse for 25 years at the St. Cloud Hospital and had been a nurse for over 35 years. She was a member and past commander of the Foley American Legion Post 298. She was also a former Foley Lioness memeber.
She is survived by her son and daughters, Sharon (Richard) Larson, Oak Park, MN; Michele (Daniel) Robak, Oak Park, MN; Jackie (David) Lecy, Oak Park, MN; Mark, St. Paul, MN; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Francis Mendoza, Wilmington, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, July 17, 2005.
