Rose Rudnitski, age 93 Foley, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Foley Nursing Center.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 Wednesday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Rose Rudnitski was born August 16, 1919 in Alberta Township, Benton Co. to James and Sally (Jedlicki) Pekarek. She married Joseph Rudnitski on July 25, 1939 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Brennyville. Rose attended grade school in District #19 and worked as a house keeper and cook in Minneapolis and Pheonix for several years. She met her future husband, Joseph at a dance and they were married on July 25, 1939 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church. The couple farmed for many years before moving to Gilman after their retirement. Rose later moved to Foley. She was a life member of the Gilman Christian Mother's where she volunteered her time for the Thanksgiving clothing drive for many years. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
She is survived by her sons and daughters; June Moshier, St. Cloud; Rodney, Foley; Janice Rudnitski, Seattle, WA; Jean (Syl) Helmin, Foley; Loree Rudnitski, Gilman; Ione (Bill) Winter, Wayzata; Gordon (Judy), Foley; Wayne (Tanja), Missoula, MT; Neil (Jill), Big Lake; Faith Rudnitski (Leon Johnson) , Barrett; JoEllen Rudnitski, (Kevin Mastel), New York Mills, Russell (Nancy), Gilman; 26 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and a sister, Eveyln Lewandowski, Phoenix, AZ and sister-in-law, Mary Pekarek, Foley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, September 24, 1998; grandson, Ryan Chmielewski, and great granddaughter, Kassidy Rosenberger.
