Roman Lance, age 85, of Foley, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Good Sheperd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Ramey.  Rev. Greg Tomhave will officiate. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the Hillman American Legion, Post 602.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 Monday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Parish Prayers will be 6 pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements were made  by the Foley Funeral Home.
Roman Lance was born April 20, 1928 in Morrill Township, Morrison County to Charlie and Julia (Bolda) Lance.  He married Ardyce Struck on November 26, 1960 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Ramey.  The couple lived most of their married life in rural Foley.  Roman was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War.  He drove truck for many years for the Benton County Highway Department where he was a past member of the 49'ers Union.  He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and the Hillman American Legion, Post 602.  Roman enjoyed a good game of cribbage or spades.  He especially enjoyed fishing and took great pride in mowing his lawn.
He  is survived by his wife,  Ardyce of Foley; sons and daughter;  Nelson, Clear Lake; Bruce (Danelle Graf), St. Cloud; Arlette (Douglas Doty), Sauk Rapids; Craig, Foley; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and his faithful companion, Bootsie.   He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
