Roger Kampa, age 68, of Sartell and formerly of Foley, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Foreston, MN. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.
Roger Kampa was born June 14, 1943 in St. Cloud, MN to Benedict and Helen (Petrowski) Kampa. He married Marie Yetzer on June 12, 1965 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Milaca, MN. He lived most of his life in the Foley area and attended Foley High School. Roger worked as a self employed milk hauler for many years before going to work for Bauerly Brother's, now Knife River, where he drove truck for 44 years. He enjoyed going to the casino, camping and fishing and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed outdoor grilling.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, Sartell, MN; daughters; Laurie Kampa, St. Joseph, MN; Tina Kampa, Rice, MN; Kim (John) Kipka, Sauk Rapids, MN; Amanda Kampa, Sartell, MN, 5 grandchildren, Sasha Kampa, Taylor Kipka, Tanner Kipka, Cole Kampa, Bryce Kampa, great granddaughter, Amariana Wimberly, brother, Richard (Mary Ellen) Kampa, Foley; sister, Lois Marsh, Monticello, MN; and his loyal dog, Teddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Edna Mae Jenson
