Robert VanderWeyst, age 82, of Sartell and formerly of Foley, died peacefully Friday, October 25, 2013 at his home,Country Manor in Sartell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in rural Sauk Rapids. The Rev. Dan Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Sunday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Parish Prayers will be at 5 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Robert William VanderWeyst was born July 8, 1931 in Clontarf Township, Swift County, MN the son of William and Marie (Hargreaves) VanderWeyst. Robert farmed all of his life in Benton County. He enjoyed the simple things in life and found his greatest joy in spending time with his nieces and nephews as well as his many animals. Robert was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3603.
He is survived by his brothers: Howard (Joyce) of Arden Hills, Merlin (Mary Jane) of St. Cloud, Raymond (Virginia) of Waite Park; sister Rose (Anthony) Januszewski of St. Cloud; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet (Paul) Erpelding.
