Robert Kampa, age 85, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm. The Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 Friday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley after 9:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Parish prayers will be at 5 pm Friday evening. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Robert Kampa was born May 28, 1928 in St. George Township, Benton Co. to Peter and Mary (Balder) Kampa. He married Bernice 'Bunny' Jenson on June 28, 1950 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Robert was a talented machinist and welder and worked until his retirement in 1985. He could fix anything and was an inventor and a-jack-of-all-trades. After his retirement he spent winters in Apache Junction, Az. Robert was well liked and enjoyed people, playing cards and cribbage, golfing, dancing and fishing. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
He is survived by his son and daughters; Connie (Gary) Pruss, Old Town, Fl; Ron (Renee), Princeton; Jeanne (Scott) Helgeson, Rosemount; Ginger Yetzer, Mesa, AZ; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, brothers, Donald 'Buster' (Joyce), St. Cloud; Mert (Carol), St. Cloud; Lloyd (Josie), Duelm..
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Bernice 'Bunny' and brother, Sylvester 'Jack', sister, Marge Turner and grandson, Joshua Yetzer.
