Robert 'Bob' Quade, age 81, of Osseo and formerly of Foley, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Heritage of Foley Nursing Home after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Daniel Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Foley American Legion, Post 298.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Robert 'Bob' Quade was born April 30, 1933 in Foley, Minnesota to George and Elizabeth (Wiltgen) Quade. Bob attended a one room school house in Foley and graduated from Foley High School. After graduation he worked in the mines in the Hibbing area for a time before being drafted in the U.S. Army. He served in Germany repairing and leveling bombed out buildings from WWII. He returned home and married Mary Ann Stachowski on September 3, 1956 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Together the couple shared 58 years of marriage. After their marrige he attended night school at the Dunwoody Institute for four years where he learned welding and mechanical work. Bob went on to own and operate Northern Tractor and Equipment Company in Osseo for over 40 years. Bob had an extensive knowledge of heavy equipment that was sought by many in the industry. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family members. Memorials are preferred in-lieu of flowers to the National Parkinson's Foundation. The family wishes to thank the Heritage of Foley and Heartland Hospice staff for all their care and concern for Bob over the years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann, Osseo, sons and daughter; Doug (Mary Kay), Osseo; Greg (Michelle), New Brighton and Diane (Dan) Lowe, Greenfield, grandchildren; Nicholas, Adam, Mackensie, Robert and Dayne and brothers and sister, Alan (Darlene), Roseville; Gene (Eileen), Foley; Linda 'Betty' (Ron) Proehl, St. Cloud. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marion Kipka.
