Richard Bursch, age 78, of Gilman, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Lutheran Care Center, Little Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 Wednesday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Parish Prayers will be at 5 pm followed by the Knight's of Columbus Rosary at 7 pm Wednesday evening. Arrangements were made  by the Foley Funeral Home.
Richard Bursch was born April 5, 1935 in Mayhew Lake Township, Benton Co. to Michael and Clara (Chapp) Bursch.  He married Loretta Zuleger on July 18, 1961 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.  The couple lived all of their married life in Gilman.  Richard worked at DeZurik in the foundry for many years. Richard was an avid softball fan and spent many summer days watching games at the Gilman ball fields.  He was a wonderful grandpa and left a good example for his grandchildren.  He enjoyed playing cards and cribbage and liked to fish, especially ice fishing.  He had a good sense of humor and family was always very important to him. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Gilman Knight's of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta, Gilman son and daughter; Michael (Rhonda), Royalton and Kim of Sauk Rapids, grandchildren; Brett, Brooke, Blake and Paige all of Royalton and brothers and sisters; Pauline (Herb) Bozych, Ramey; Valerian, Gilman; Margie (Edward) Jonas, Richmond; Marcel (Mary Jane), Gilman and Ronald (Susan) of Sauk Rapids.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Vincent and Anthony.
