Richard 'Dick' Kampa, age 83, of Foley, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital.   Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday, August 24, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm. The Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate. Burial will be in Parish Cemetery.   Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Foley Funeral Home.  Parish Prayers will be at 5 pm Sunday.  Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to services at the church.

Richard 'Dick' Benedict Kampa was born December 7, 1931 in Foley MN to Benedict and Helen (Piotrowski) Kampa.  He grew up in Foley MN and graduated from Foley High School in 1949.  Richard married Mary Ellen Kardash on September 6th, 1952 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids.  The couple made their home in Sauk Rapids.
In 1961, Dick joined the DeLaval Separator Co. as a Sales Representative.  In 1962 Dick and his family relocated to Howard South Dakota and then later moved back to Foley MN in December 1966 where he lived the balance of his life.  He retired from DeLaval in 1990 but remained a consultant until recently.  While employed, Dick received many awards of recognition including the Outstanding Sales Achievement Award, and the Outstanding Territory Manager Award.    After he retired he enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, and having coffee and playing cribbage with his buddies in Santiago.  Dick served as President of the St. Cloud Library Board, and also served on the St. Lawrence Parish Council.  He was a member of the St. Lawrence Knights of Columbus #12519.

He will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend for over 62 years, Mary Ellen; children:   Paul Kampa of Brainerd, Bonnie (David) Moeller of Clear Lake, Joseph Kampa of St. Cloud, and Ellen (Mark) Evans of Sauk Rapids; three grandchildren:  Kristy and Justin Moeller, and Cassandra Evans; and three great grandchildren; sister, Louis Marsh of Monticello; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Edna Mae Jensen, and brother Roger Kampa.
