Raymond F. Novak, age 78, of Foley, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd.
Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman. Viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.at church. The Rev. Richard Leisen will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Raymond Novak was born May 25, 1935 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Joseph and Clara (Jedlicki) Novak. He married Elizabeth Ettl in 1957 in Albany. Raymond attended country school, North Benton, Foley High School and the MN School of Business. He farmed in rural Foley and owned and operated, Rays Auto Body in Anoka for years. Ray also worked at Dezuriks and was a member of the International Assoc. of Machinist & Aerospace Workers Union. He was a skilled welder who excelled at designing his own equipment. Ray enjoyed playing cards, especially a good game of cribbage. He was a very social person and was always ready for a good visit. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sons and daughters; Raymond (Sharan), Timothy (Karey Jo), Mark (Joan), Marybeth (Gary) Juetten, John (Carey), David (Sandy), Marie (Rob) Madgwick and brothers and sisters; Angie (Novak) Watercott, Benedict, Betty Jane (Novak) Day, Jerry and Joseph Novak, 19 grandchildren; Eric, Jason, Scott, Keith, Zachariah, Elliot, Logan, Victoria, Elijah, Meghan, Stacy, Max and McKay Novak, Tracy (Novak) Hodel, BethyJo Juetten, Melissa (Novak) Gotvald, Katie (Novak) Weiss, Jakob and Edison Madgwick, 9 great grandchildren; Hayley, Abbigail, Mason, Maverick, Isabelle, Raelynn Novak, Ty, Jax and Laney Hodel.
He was preceded in death by Elizabeth and grandchildren, Sheldon and Amber Novak.
