Paul Lesniak, age 81 of Foley, MN, died Sunday August 5, 2012 at the Foley Nursing Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Brennyville. The Rev. Daniel Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Hillman American Legion, Post 602 and the Gilman VFW Post 1558.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 Wednesday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church. St. Joseph's Council of Knight's of Columbus #7539 Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Paul Lesniak was born August 28, 1930 in Gilmanton Township, Benton Co., MN to Louie and Veronica (Hess) Lesniak. He married Darlene Schueller on June 18, 1958 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morrill, MN The couple lived and farmed in Lakin Township, Morrison Co., for many years. Paul was a past member of the Lakin Township Board; was a State Fire Warden for over 40 years; Board of Directors for Benton Co., D.H.I.A. as supervisor; Treasurer of the Benton Co., Association of Disabaled Citizens; Post Commander and Finance Officer and Life Member of the Hillman American Legion, Post 602; Life Member of the Gilman VFW, Post 1558; Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans and Life Member of the Hillman Knight's of Columbus, Council 7539. Paul was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War and was wounded in combat and missing in action. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Paul was extremely proud of his service to his country. He was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Brennyville, MN.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene, Foley, MN, sons and daughters; Kevin (Jenny), Foley, MN; Clarette Lesniak, Little Falls, MN; Wayne; Jayne (Logan) Ramsey, Big Lake, MN; Marla (Jeff) Foss; Pierz, MN, sister, Marge Gruber, Pierz, MN, 10 grandchildren; Tony, Jim, William, Christopher, Tara, Darren, Grey, Josh, Cory, Dillan and 3 great grandchildren, Ava, Owen and Levi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Lenny and grandson, Michael Lesniak, brothers, Mike and Clarence and sisters, Frances Pella and Betty Miller.
