Mike Herbrand, age 66, of Foley, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at his home of cancer.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley, MN. The Rev. Dan Walz will officiate. Private family burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley, MN and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Michael Herbrand was born March 26, 1945 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Alphonse and Dolly (Latterell) Herbrand. He married Rita Lass on May 10, 1969 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake. Mike lived and worked all of his life in the Foley area. He worked for Murphy Chevrolet from 1961-1974 and the Benton County Highway Department from 1975-2011. He was a firearms safety instructor and ATV and snowmobile safety instructor for over 20 years. Mike was also a Volunteer Fireman for the city of Foley from 1974-1996. He was a life member of St. John's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rita, son and daughter, Rick (Erin), Kristyn (Dan) McCain and grandson, Braden, all of Foley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Lorraine Prachar, Charlotte Gondeck, JoAnn Hodgson, Kathleen Scherbing and sister-in-law, Joanne Novak.
