Mary A. Pokladnik, age 90, of Foley, died Wednesday August 17, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:15 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley, MN. The Rev. Dan Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call 1 hour before services at the church. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Mary Pokladnik was born August 15, 1921 in Gilmanton Twp., Benton Co., MN to Metod and Ludmila (Kartous) Pokladnik. She had worked at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, TX during the war and had worked as a deputy clerk of court in Benton County for 31 years. She had cared for her parents and raised her nephew, Howard Vaillancourt. She was a member of the Foley Garden Club; Foley American Legion Auxiliary Post 298; Glendorado VFW Auxiliary Post 806; the Crosier Apostolate; and St. John's Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.

She is survived by her special nephew, Howard Vaillancourt, Princeton, MN; and special family, Vern (LaVon) Heise and Mark (Jean) Heise.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, William and Emil Pokladnik and sister, Lillian Vaillancourt Andrews.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
