Mary Okonek, age 93, of Foley, died Tuesday April 1, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley.  The Rev. Daniel Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 Friday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church. Parish prayers will be at 6PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Mary Okonek was born July 9, 1920 in Stricktland, WI to John and Barbara (Bal) Koscielniak.  She married Edward Okonek on April 16, 1940.  Mary had lived and cleaned many family homes and business in the Foley area most of her life.  She was a good spirited person with a great sense of humor.  She enjoyed playing April Fool's Day jokes on people, playing bingo in the community room at Dewey  Place and faithfully watched Dr. Phill and her daily soap operas.  Mary will be missed by her family and many friends.  She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church
She is survived by her daughters and son; Rosie Scheper, Brooklyn Park; Delphine (Paul) Langendorf, St. Joseph; Judy Stumvoll, Foley; Jerry, Pierz; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and a brother, Teofil 'Pete' Koscielniak of Hillman.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Victoria Christensen, brothers; Andrew, Carl, Joseph and Edward and sons-in-law, Dennis Scheper and Duane Stumvoll.
