Marjorie L. Hanson, age 80, of Foley, MN, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Foley Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Glendorado Lutheran Church, Glendorado, MN. The Rev. Barb Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 Saturday at the church. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, Minnesota.

Marjorie Hanson was born February 16, 1931 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Charles and Vida (Smith) Boyle. Marjorie grew up in Excelsior, MN and graduated from Excelsior High School. She worked at Honeywell before her marriage. She married Gerald Hanson on April 9, 1959 in Glendorado. She lived and farmed near Foley all of her married life. Marjorie also worked at Leita's in Foley for several years. She enjoyed going to the casino, watching baseball, playing Bingo and traveling. She was a member of the Glendorado VFW Auxiliary and Glendorado Lutheran Church. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

She is survived by her sons and daughters; Jeff (Robin) Carlson, Minneapolis, MN; Susan (Jack) Anderson, Becker, MN; Debbie (Dean) Stay, Foley, MN; Steve (Renee), Foley, MN; grandchildren, Amanda & Jason Stay and Chelsey & Johnathan Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gerald, brother, Jack Higgins and sister, Genevieve Walters.
