Marie Helmin, age 94 of Foley and formerly of Gilman, died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Foley Nursing Center, Foley, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, MN. The Rev. Virgil Helmin will Officiate and the Rev. Tom Olson and Dan Walz will Con-Celebrate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 Tuesday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley, MN and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. The SS.Peter & Paul Christian Mothers and the Gilman Knight's of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 6:30 followed by the Parish Prayers at 7:30 Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Marie Helmin was born March 16, 1916 in Brockway Township, Stearns County, MN to Frank and Rose (Mock) Maleska. She married Edward Helmin on February 20, 1939 at St. Columkille Catholic Church, St. Wendel, MN. The couple lived and farmed all their married life near Gilman. Marie was a member of the SS. Peter & Paul Christian Mothers for over 62 years had also laundered the church linens for 29 years. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, baking and gardening. Rose also taught religious education for many years. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's.

She is survived by her sons and daughters; Gerald, Eden Prairie, MN; Francis (Joyce), Morrill, MN; Vic (Dorothy), Foley, MN; Euphrosine (Gary) Bielejeski, Eveleth, MN; Fr. Virgil, Clear Lake, MN; Yvonne (Dennis) Gapinski; St. Cloud, MN, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, sister and brothers, Agnes Mike, St. Paul, MN; Frank, Melrose, MN; Gregory, Sauk Rapids, MN and Al of St. Joseph, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, May, 1994, son, Terrence, June, 1985, grand daughter, Ginger Helmin, Novemeber, 1984 and brothers and sister, Ted, John and Josephine Hollier.
