Lorraine Dumonceaux was born September 14, 1924 to Leo and Theresa (Fleegle) Miller. Lorraine was the oldest of 15 siblings. She helped her parents raise most of them.
With a little help from her friend and future sister-in-law, Una, she met Greg Dumonceaux. They were married October 12, 1944 at St. John's Catholic Church in Foley.
Lorraine and Greg raised their children in the same home they bought together on Norman Avenue. Who knew that starting their lives together in that modest house would lead to so many wonderful memories. They were married for 62 years. Lorraine was a wonderful mother and Christian woman. Her life was devoted to caring for family and loved ones and serving her faith community. She was always there to lend her support and encouragement. Lorraine was a self-sacrificing woman who always put God first, a trait she proudly instilled in her children and grandchildren.
Lorraine had a quick wit and a twinkle in her eyes. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, praying and conversing with close friends. She also enjoyed photography and she greatly valued knowledge and learning. She was always giving of herself. She volunteered at St. John's Church and School, Foley Nursing Home and in the community. She was a member of Christian Mothers Group and A.R.C. (an organization to help mentally challenged children).
