Linda E. Mehrwerth, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 19, 2019 at North Memorial Hospital in Robinsdale, MN.  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Linda will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 23, 2019 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm.  Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.  Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, rural Sauk Rapids.

Linda was born on June 17, 1941 in Fargo, ND to Raymond and Gladys (Erickson) Kirkevold, and was the youngest of 9 siblings. Linda spent most of her childhood growing up in Minneapolis. Linda met Gerald (Jerry) Mehrwerth while living in Minneapolis and they married on November 28, 1959. In 1969, they realized a lifelong dream and purchased a farm in Foley that would become their home for the rest of their lives. Linda loved sewing and crocheting, and after losing her husband of 35 years, she became an avid quilter.  Many quilts or projects where entered into the Benton County Fair and the Minnesota State Fair, often times taking home Blue Ribbons.

Linda leaves behind 6 children; Kelly (Tom) Mattson of Elk River; Roxanna (Tim) Holper of Elgin, MN; Donna (Bill) Jones of Onamia; Jerry (Vicky) Mehrwerth of New Hope; Danny (Marlo) Mehrwerth of St Stephen; and Jeffrey Mehrwerth of Burnsville. Linda was also grandma to fifteen grandchildren:  William, Robert, Amanda, Brian, Derek, Zachary, Nathan, Justin, Kristin, Ryan, Mitchell, Anthony, Ashley, Brandon and Corey who all have fond memories of time spent on the farm. Linda also had nine great-grandchildren and leaves behind three siblings:  Bernice, Kermit and Tommy. Linda was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her mother and father, grandson Kyle, and siblings Edward, June, Margaret, Earl, Raymond, and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Linda's family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and is grateful to the staff at North Memorial Hospital.  Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
