Larry D. VanHooser, age 70, of Foley, MN, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at his home.

Memorial Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Henry's Catering and Banquet Center, Foley., MN Military Honors will be provided by the Foley American Legion, Post #298.

Friends may call one hour prior to the services at Henry's Banquet Center. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Larry D. VanHooser was born June 18, 1940 in Kensett, Iowa to Clark and Ara (Thompson) VanHooser. He married Loris Baumgardner on June 12, 1965 in Reseda, CA. He lived and farmed in Alberta Township, Benton County, MN from 1973 - 1995. Larry also worked at Quebcor Printing from 1995 - 2005, when he retired. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture. He also made bird houses for the Soil and Water District and for years made toys, wooden trains and helicopters for the Salvation Army. He also enjoyed grooming and maintaining walking trails in his woodlands. Larry served on the Glendorado Insurance board and the Farmers Union Local board. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran and was Honorably Discharged in 1965.

He is survived by his wife, Loris, Foley, MN; son, David (Shannan), Holstein, IA; grandchildren, Dean Michael, Cassie Ann and Lee Allen; brothers and sisters; Clark Jr. (Marjorie); Roger Vern (Mary Kay); Sharon Sue Talberg and Rose Ann (Robert) Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Bruce and nephew, Mark.
