Kathryn L. Denfeld, age 85, of Rice, MN died Tuesday October 23, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 at Annunciation Catholic Church, Mayhew Lake, MN. The Rev. Daniel Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour before services at church. Parish Prayers will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Kathryn Denfeld was born March 22, 1927 in St. George Twp., Benton Co., MN to William and Mathilda (Brunn) David. She married Eugene 'Gene' Denfeld August 23, 1949 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm, MN. She had lived in Foley before moving to Rice where the couple farmed most of their married life. They raised six children. She enjoyed square dancing, needle work, sewing and embroidery. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. Kathryn was a volunteer grandparent at the Foley Elementary School. She is survived by her husband, Gene, Rice, MN; sons and daughters, Daniel (Janet), Foley, MN; Lawrence (Joan), Richmond, MN; Debra (Gary) Herges, Alexandria, MN; Sharon (Jeff) Henry, Northfield, MN; Marsha (Robert) Auth, Arlington, TX; Kenneth (Nancy), Foley, MN; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Cecelia Ruhoff, Sartell, MN; Eleanor Brambrink, Mayhew Lake, MN; William 'Bill' (Pat) David, Foley, MN; Ervin (Violet) David, Foley, MN; and Agnes Hoffman, Motley, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Helen David and brother, Donald David
