Kathleen Murn Rydberg, age 80, of Sauk Rapids, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel, Sauk Rapids. The Rev. Yolanda K. Denson-Byers will officiate.  Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, rural Sauk Rapids.
Friends may call from 2:30 to 4 PM Tuesday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel.  Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.
Kathleen Ann Murn Rydberg was born April 19, 1936 in Saint Cloud, Minnesota to John G. and Rose (Schueller) Murn.  She graduated from Foley High School in 1954 and later worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for many years.  She also worked for Federal Cartridge, Honeywell and most recently worked as a custodian for the Sartell School District.  Kathy enjoyed  gardening and canning, knitting and sewing and doing craft work.  She especially enjoyed family vacations at Izaty's Resort.  She always had a special love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Kathy was a hard worker and very independent and self sufficient.  Kathy had the ability to make anyone and everyone laugh with her uncensored sassy and quick witted personality.  She said it like it was.  She was truly unforgettable. The family would like to thank the St. Cloud Hospital, Good Shepherd Community and St. Croix Hospice for all their love and special care for Kathleen.
She  is survived by her daughter and son; Lesley Ann Kowitz, Cold Spring; Chad, AZ, grandchildren; Cory (Sara), Aaron (Erin), Kelsey, Josh, Katie and great grandchildren; Cameron, Madeline, Lydia, Kaden, Hunter and Noah, brother and sisters; Patricia (Bill) Benedict, Rice; Diane Hodel, Elk River; Jack (Rose  Ann), Sauk Rapids; Denise (Joe) Scapanski, Sauk Rapids and Roseann 'Sug' (Bruce) Latterell of Foley.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joey.
