Judy M. Brambrink 66, of Roseville, MN, died peacefully at Our Lady of Peace Care Center on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in St. Cloud, MN, July 1, 1947, the daughter of Marie (Traeger) and Norbert Brambrink.
Judy grew up in Foley, graduating in 1967 at the Minnesota School for the Deaf in Faribault. She went to a business college and was a keypunch operator for a telephone company in Minneapolis and then City Hall in Waterloo, IA, shortly after getting married. When she moved back to Minnesota, following a divorce, she worked several years as a Teacher's Aide for the Metro Deaf School.
She enjoyed stamping greeting cards and playing dominoes. She was also involved with several organizations including the Cedarloo Deaf Club, MN Deaf Senior Citizens, Pink Deafies, and Red Hats.
Survivors include her three children Stacy Richmond of Bloomington, MN, Norbert Richmond, and Michelle Opbroek and her husband James of Spearfish, SD; two grandsons Tristan and Elijah Opbroek; one sibling Diane Gohman and her husband Bruce of Naples, FL; niece Vicki Gohman of Eden Prairie, MN and nephew Michael Gohman and his wife Nancy of St. Cloud, MN.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 701 Fillmore Street N.E., Minneapolis. Burial will be the following day in Saint Johns Catholic Cemetery. There are no public calling hours.
