Judy Schmit, age 68, of Foley, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 7, 2015.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm. The Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Parish Prayers will be 5 pm at the funeral home on Thursday.  Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.
Judith Ann 'Judy' Schmit was born November 16, 1946 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to William and Mary (Borresch) Halfman.  Judy grew up in the Duelm area all of her life.  She graduated from Foley High School and married Donald Schmit on September 19, 1964 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm.  Donny and Judy had three children; Richard, Wanda and Gail.  Judy was a stay at home mother and wife with unlimited talents.  She was a "jack of all trades" and a master at one; sewing.  She was a perfectionist.  Judy was a very loving person with a heart of gold.  She loved time spent with her children and loved to spoil her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son and daughters; Richard (Sharon), Foley; Wanda Schmit-Beehler, Foley; Gail Schmit, St. Cloud, brother, Dick (Gerry) Halfman, Foley and sister, Betty Conroy, St. Cloud, grandchildren; Adam Schmit, Tiffany Schmit, Seth Peterson, Sam Peterson, Sheldon Schmit, Hunter Beehler , Saylor Schmit and Sutherlin Schmit and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald; brother, William Halfman; brother-in-law, Tom Conroy and mother and father-in-law, Chris & Wilhemina Schmit.
