Jeffery Alan Schmidt was born August 18, 1962 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Leland and Donna Schmidt.  He graduated high school and entered in to the US Army, serving honorably.  On June 6, 2000 he married Penny Mechtel.  He worked in landscaping for several years. Jeffery enjoyed fishing, gambling, a good game of cribbage and was an avid sports fan.  He was always full of laughter and practical jokes.

He is survived by his wife, Penny and daughter, Shelby (Christopher) Khambong, Clear Lake; brother, Michael (Erica) Schmidt, Rochester; sister, Debra Schmidt, Minneapolis; mother, Donna, Rochester and granddaughter, Stella Khambong and expected grandchild as well as a nephew, Jordan and a niece,  Bailey and best friends; Ricky Leavelle Davis, Steve Hurd, Tim Hadler and Ron Olson.  He was preceded in death by his father, Leland and niece, Nicole. Memorials are preferred.
