Ione Rau, age 69, of Foley, MN, died, Wednesday July 14, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Foley Funeral Home Chapel, Foley, MN. The Rev. Jeff Loewen will officiate. Burial will be in the Estes Brook Cemetery, Foley, MN.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 Friday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley, MN and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Arrangements by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.
Ione Rau was born November 8, 1940 in St. Cloud, MN to Paul and Florence (Forester) Nelson. She married Roger Rau September 22, 1962 and later divorced. Ione graduated from Foley High School and lived in Wisconsin before moving back to Foley in 1979. She worked at the Mille Lacs Veterinary Clinic for 22 years until her retirement. Ione was a past member of the Foley Sportsman Club, spent 13 years with the Camp Courage Wagon Train and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed her little house and planting flowers on her deck and loved horses, dogs, books and playing cards with her brother, George. She is survived by her son and daughter, Jeff (Kris), Foley, MN; Becky Rau, Jackson, MS, grandchildren, Jada, Noah and Christopher, brother, George, Carson City, NV; several nieces and nephews and her dog Brian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Paul Boyd Nelson, sisters; Adeline Wager; Corinne Stephenson; LaVerne Cartwright and Marguerite Johnson.
