Hildegard Schneider, age 97, of Foley, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids.  Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Hildegard will be Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm.  Rev. Virgil Helmin will officate.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.  Interment will be in the Parish cemetery.

Hildegard M. Schneider was born November 15, 1919 in St. Joseph, Minnesota; the daughter of Leopold and Margaret (Reisinger) Donabauer.  On October 14, 1944, she was united in marriage with Victor Schneider at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park.  The couple made their home farming near Foley and were blessed with 8 children.  Hildegard enjoyed life on the farm and became known for her wonderful bread, pies and Sunday dinners.  She cared tenderly for her the flowers and vegetables in her garden; spending a lot of time canning each year.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading.  Hildegard was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.  She loved celebrating their annual 4th of July chicken dinners and spent many hours helping prepare the dinner.

Hildegard is survived by her children:  Barbara Pappenfus of St. Cloud, Dorothy (Russ) Ridge of Coon Rapids, Victoria (Ralph) Corrigan of Foley, Richard of Foley, Roger (Janet) of Holdingford, Julie (Len) Voigt of Pearl Lake, Rosemary (Richard) Hommerding of Waite Park; grandchildren:  Debra Wilken, Sandra Anderson, Steven Pappenfus, Jodi Russell, Lorie Schreifels, Vicki Jo Bruce, Nicole Coy, Connie Ridge, Randy Ridge, Philip Hommerding, Michael Hommerding, Jeremy Voigt, Lisa Askew, Christine Scherbing, Ashley Corrigan-Steffey; 27 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; sister, Flora Joan Wruck of St. Cloud; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor on December 4, 1999; son, Gerald on April 12, 1998; son-in-law, Joseph Pappenfus; sisters:  Gilberta Kline, Rosalia Michalski, Othilia Loekken, Mary Ann Donabauer; brothers:  Herman, Bernard, Alphonse Leo, Leo Joseph, Alphonse John, Valentine, Daniel, Florian, and Gilbert.
