Helen C. 'Punch' Bettendorf, age 89, of Foley, MN, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Foley Nursing Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Dan Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 Monday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Helen Bettendorf was born March 30, 1922 in Foley, Minnesota to Henry C. and Catherine (Wisniewski) Bettendorf. She grew up and lived most her life in the Bettendorf family home in Foley. Helen attended St. Cloud Business College and worked for Northern States Power Co. in the accounting department for 44 years, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed bowling and basketball and traveled extensively in the eastern US and Canada. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Special thanks to Heritage Home Health Care and Arise Home Health, especially Jane, who's care allowed Helen to stay in her home.

She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Ruth Bettendorf, Mpls., MN and brother-in-law, Syl Tomporowski, St. Cloud, MN.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Henry 'Boots', Richard, John 'Honus', Francis, Pauline Brenny, Catherine Niedzielski, Rosemary 'Pete' Schaefer, Mary Margaret 'Murph' Tomporowski and Alice Latterell and nephews, Jack Schaefer, Randy Niedzielski and John C. Bettendorf II.
