Gordon Davis, age 88 of Foley, MN, died Monday October 31, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.

Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday, November 4, 2011 at Foley Funeral Home Chapel, Foley, MN. Burial will be in the Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton, MN with Military Honors provided by the Foley American Legion, Post 298.

Friends may call from after 10 a.m. Friday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Gordon Davis was born October 21, 1923 in Otsego, MN to Andrew L. and Olive B. (Stimson) Davis. He married Nona Wingness on November 6, 1945 in Elk River, MN. Gordon worked as a self employed cement contractor and farmed most of his life near Elk River. He was a US Army Veteran. He was a talented musician and played the piano, accordion, harmonica and played for many weddings but mostly played for beer. Gordon also collected old tractors, especially John Deere.

He is survived by his wife, Nona, Foley, MN; sons and daughter; Mike (Karen), Oak Park, MN; Jim (Debbie), Zimmerman, MN; Terry (Mary), Zimmerman, MN; Pete (Mary), Princeton, MN; Patty (John) Scmid, Princeton, MN; Bob (Mary), Hillman, MN; Gord (Anita), Mpls, MN and Ed (Lori), Zimmerman, MN, 28 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, brothers, Bud, Detroit Lakes, MN, Andy, McGregor, MN; and Dick, Monticello, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Marion Brauer and Ruth Davis.
