Giles 'GMan' Gorecki, age 57 of Foley, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Quiet Oaks Hospice House on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.  Mass of Christian Burial will be  10:00 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2017 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman.  Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4-8 PM, Friday, December 15th at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Parish Prayers at 4 PM.  Visitation will continue after 9 AM at the church Saturday.  Burial will be in the Parish cemetery.

Giles Jerome Gorecki was born October 11, 1960 in St. Cloud, Minnesota the son of Frank and Catherine (Niedzielski) Gorecki.  He graduated from Foley High School in 1979 and attended St. Cloud Technical College to work as a machinist before returning home to take over the family farm.  On August 18, 1990, Giles was united in marriage with Diana Lewandowski at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman.  He was an active  member of SS. Peter & Paul's Church serving as a lector for over 30 years, served on the Gilman Co-op Creamery board from 1997-2012, and was a member of the Minnesota Trapper's Association.  Giles was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying his life on the dairy farm, hunting, fishing, and trapping.  He was a very kind, loving, and patient husband and father; and a man who would help anyone in need.  His warm and loving smile will forever be remembered.

Giles is survived by the love of his life, Diana of Foley; sons, Dillon and Devin of Foley; mother, Catherine of Milaca; father-in-law, Ernie Lewandowski of Foley; brother-in-law, Lyle (Kathy) Lewandowski; sisters-in-law:  Lisa (Joel) Ziegler and Donna (Tom)Skaggs; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Gorecki and mother-in-law, Arlene Lewandowski.
