Eugene 'Gene' Volkers, age 56, of Foley, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Red Wing Healthcare Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, October 31, 2015 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm. The Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. .
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour prior to services at the church. Parish Prayers will be held at 5:00 PM Friday evening.
Eugene Valentine Volkers was born October 17, 1959 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He married  Lynn Marie Winkelman on February 28, 1981 at St. Lawrence in Duelm.  Gene worked for Bauerly's for over 25 years.  He enjoyed anything outdoors including hunting, fishing,working on a hobby farm and fixing up cars.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Marie of Foley; daughter, Sara (Jim) Orton of Foreston; son, Jonathan (June Sayers) of Foley; parents Howard and Anna (Kotzer) of St. Cloud; brothers:  Greg (Suzie Alman) of Sauk Rapids, Daniel of St. Cloud and David (Kathy) of Port Angelos, Washington; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Jana Volkers.
