Eugene 'Gene' Traeger, age 64, of Foley, died Sunday July 4, 2010 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Duelm, MN. The Rev. Bernard Kahlhamer will officiate. Burial will be in the Seven Dolores Catholic Cemetery, Albany, MN.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour before services at church. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Eugene Traeger was born January 28, 1946 in Albany, Minnesota to Anton and Marcella (Theisen) Traeger. He married Shirley Stock June 10, 1967 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MN He had lived in rural Foley most of his life. He was a self employed businessman in sales/service for Chief and Badger equipment; Turnkey Ag Builder; and Residential/Commercial Builder/ Contractor/ Developer. He has been in the construction business for over 40 years and multiple other mini ventures. He was the past president of the Duelm Lions and past member of the Moose in Princeton. Gene enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, traveling, reading and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, Foley, MN; daughters and son, Sandra (Russell) Hennen, Echo, MN; Susan (James) Swanson, St. Cloud, MN; Steven (Cheryl), Foley, MN; mother, Marcella Traeger, Albany, MN; sisters and brothers, George, Melrose, MN, Mary Tessman, Brooklyn Park, MN; Joni Garbe, Hudson, WI; James, Avon, MN; Richard, Phoenix, AZ; Gerald, Chattaroy, WA; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anton.
