Ed Lytner, age 91, of Foley, died Tuesday December 11, 2012 at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, St. Cloud, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Daniel Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Volunteer Honor Guard at the cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour before services at church. Parish prayers will be 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Ed Lytner was born July 18, 1921 in Rossford, Ohio to Frank and Antonia (Hanek) Lytner. He married Joyce Stockinger February 10, 1984 in Foley. He had lived in Foley and owned and operated Lytner Floor Covering. Ed was an Army Veteran of WW II until being injured in a plane crash and after being hospitalized was discharged. He enjoyed his garden and greenhouse work, always planting something new. He is a member of St. John's Catholic Church; the Gilman Knights of Columbus; and the Foley American Legion Post 298.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, Foley, MN; daughter and sons, Debbie (Tom) Freitag, Denver, CO; Jim Lytner, Henderson, NV; Dave Lytner, TX; adopted daughter, Kathleen, Mpls., MN; six stepsons, Dean, Mark, David (Tammy), Rob (Ruth), Chad (Nancy) and Rick Dresow; sisters, Irene Streeter and Mildred Pavuk, Ohio; Helen Glumac, Hibbing, MN, Ruth Rajacich and Evelyn Voss, St. Paul, MN; brother, Tom, Chisholm, MN; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Karen and Pam, three brothers and one sister.
