Donald Pohlkamp, age 55, of Hillman, died Friday, December 6, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morrill. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 Monday at St. Joseph's Parish Hall in Morrill and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Parish Prayers will be at 5 PM followed by the Gilman Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 PM Monday evening. Arrangements were made  by the Foley Funeral Home.
Donald Pohlkamp was born August 10, 1958 in Little Falls, MN to Theodore and Anna (Gangl) Pohlkamp.  He graduated from Pierz High School in 1976 and attended St. Cloud Vocational School for welding.  Out of high school he worked for Fred Block Construction and Mike Gangl Trucking as a milk hauler.  He married Kerry Young on May 2, 1981 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman and they later divorced.  Donnie lived and worked most his life in the Morrill area.  He worked as a dairy, beef and grain farmer for and Joe Miller Farms and also as a hired hand for Royal Farms in Royalton.  On January 2, 2001, Donnie was paralyzed in a snowmobile accident and since that time had done lawn care and volunteered his time at the St. Joseph's  Parish Hall and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Gilman Knights of Columbus and the Ramey/Morrill Lions Club.  Memorials are preferred in-leu of flowers.
He is survived by his son, Adam (Sherry), Foley; grandson, Austin and expected granddaughter of Foley and  Deb Bialke, Hillman, brothers and sisters; Marge (Larry) Teig; Brainerd; Thomas 'Toby' (Elaine), Royalton; Richard (Linda), Buckman; Pat (Gerry) Britz; St. Cloud; twin sister, Dona (Danny) Janson, Pierz; Rosie (Carl)  Rinkel, Maple Grove; Linda (Mike) Brezinka, Buckman, Roger (Terra), Buckman and brother-in-law, Dennis Weber of Rice and many nieces and nephews.  He will also be greatly missed by Deb's children; Shawn, Chad (Missy), Nichole, Miranda, Matt (Michelle) and Kaelyn, Toby  and Haileigh.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Anna, son, Shawn on July 4, 2009, sister, Teresa Weber and nephew and niece, Jason Rinkel and Amy Britz.
