Darrel B. Okonek, age 53, of Oak Park, MN, died Sunday October 3, 2010 at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Henry's Catering, Foley, MN. The Rev. Barb Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Lutheran Cemetery, Ronneby, MN. Military honors will be provided by the Foley American Legion.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley, mN and 1 hour before services at Henry's Catering. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Darrel Okonek was born February 6, 1957 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Quirren and Rosemary (Stawarski) Okonek. He married Denise Orton December 21, 1991. He was a life long resident of Benton County, MN and worked at Electrolux for 31 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Darrel liked to host parties, go to auctions and garage sales. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and cook. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers - District 165.

He is survived by his wife, Denise, Oak Park, MN; daughters and son, Shannon (Eric) Storkamp, Pierz, MN; Stacey Wasner, Royalton, MN; Ashley Okonek (Emery Schwarzkops), Oak Park, MN; Aron (Brianna Dombrovski), Foley, MN; a granddaughter, Aleah Storkamp; brothers, Doug (Diane), Oak Park, MN; Dale (Denise), Ft. Ripley, MN; and sister-in-law, Carol Okonek, St. Cloud, MN.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, LeRoy and Donald.
