Cordy Latterell, age 77, of Foley, MN died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley, MN. The Rev. Robert Kieffer will officiate. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 Friday (today)at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Parish prayers will be 5:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Cordella 'Cordy' Latterell was born September 1, 1933 in Foley, MN to George and Otilia (Marx) Timmers. She married Thomas Latterell on November 10, 1953 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. She graduated from Foley High School in 1951 with the caption, "Miss Dynamite" under her picture in the yearbook. She was proud of her work as a waitress at Enga's Cafe in St. Cloud, MN and as an employee of the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN. She retired after 32 years of employment with the School District 51 in Foley where she worked with the lunch program and a variety of other duties. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveling, bingo, puzzles, crocheting and playing cards. She was an accomplished accordion player in her younger years, a 600 Club Bowler and had a wide variety of hobbies. She will be remembered for her love of all children, her determination and her fun loving spirit. Cordy had a wonderful sense of humor and was very good at making people laugh. After suffering a stroke four years ago, she went through many adversities but managed to persevere and remain full of hope and dignity and never gave up. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Catholic Church. Memorials are preferred in-lieu of flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas, Foley, MN; sons and daughters; Doug, Minneapolis, MN; Kim (Sandy), Foley, MN; Colleen Olson (Mick Lazer), Sauk Rapids, MN; Becky (Tom) Howard, Foley, MN; Pam, Woodbury, MN; grandchildren, Stacy (Eric) Graham, Lisa (Todd) Kilgard, Kelly (Vince) Loehrer, Kyle Latterell, Michael and Jenna Olson, Bryce and Bethany Gapinski, Jay and Julia Howard and six great grandchildren, many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Tillie Timmers, sisters, Evelyn Miranowski, Marjorie Thomas, infant sister, Mary Jane and brother, Herb Timmers. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Home Health in Foley and for the care and friendship given to Cordy, it was with their help she was able to stay in her home.
