Cordula M. 'Cordy' Deter, age 84 of Foley, died Friday, December 16, 2011 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Maywood Covenant Church, Foley. The Rev. Al Monson & Rev. Allen Nauss will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Cemetery, Foley.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 Sunday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church. Prayer services will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, Minnesota.

Cordy Deter was born October 24, 1927 in Burns, Wyoming to Theodore and Theodora (Berger) Hinck. She married Mel Deter on October 8, 1950 in DeWitt, Iowa. Cordy worked for the St. Cloud School District in the lunch program for several years. The couple moved to Foley and she worked for the US Postal Service and Coborn's in Foley for many years. Cordy enjoyed spending time with her family, golfing and playing Bridge. She attended Maywood Covenant Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Elaine Alderink and her family and her sister, Vicki for the loving care and attention given to Cordy.

She is survived by her sons and daughter; Kurt (Joanne), Sartell, MN; Chet, New York, NY; Linc, St. Paul, MN; Jane (Curt) Wollan, St. Anthony, MN; and grandchildren, Bryce Deter, Lexie (Jeremiah) Swenson, Kelly Deter, Chet Wollan and Stephanie Deter and brothers and sisters; Ruth Stoll, Shoreline, WA; Paul, Camanche, IA; Joel, DeWitt, IA; John, Channahon, Ill and Vicki Nauss, Orange, CA.

She was preceded in death her parents and husband, Mel.
