Bill Kasner, age 84, of Foley, died Wednesday February 8, 2012 at the Foley Nursing Center, his home for the last 5 1/2 years, Foley from complications with parkinson's disease.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Daniel Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Military honors provided by the Foley American Legion Post 298.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.

William Kasner was born April 1, 1927 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Anthony and Wilhelmina (Blakely) Kasner. He was a life long resident of Foley where he graduated from Foley High School in 1945. He joined the US Navy during his senior year and after the Navy (1945-1948) attended St. Thomas College, graduating with a degree in accounting. He married Jeanette Balder August 19, 1950 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm, MN. He worked as an accountant at Mathew Hall Lumber from 1952-1968. Bill then worked as a business manager of Foley School District #51 from 1968-1987. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Foley; the Foley American Legion Post 298; founding member of the Wapicada Golf Club. Bill was a very avid golfer and true Twins fan. He was also a volunteer accountant for Wapicada.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, Foley, MN; sons and daughters, Mike (Marsha), Foley, MN; Mary Jean (Wayne) Shultz, Foley, MN; Ann Marie (Lyle) Stoll, Eden Prairie, MN; Tom (Lori), Albany, MN; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Margaret Thelen, St. Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Bob, March 26, 2005.
