Ardel Miller, age 76, of Foley, MN, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family after an 8 year courageous battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Robert Kieffer will officiate. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 Friday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley, MN and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Parish Prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home, Foley, MN.

Ardel Miller was born September 20, 1934 in Granite Ledge Township, Benton Co. MN to Floyd and Irene (Kampa) Elwell. She married Charles Miller on August 27, 1952 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Foreston, MN. Ardel worked for Coborn's in Foley for 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing cards. She was a member of the Foley Legion Auxiliary for 54 years. Ardel was also a member of the Foley 'morning glories' who met every Friday for coffee and conversation. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A special thank you to the Coborn's Cancer Center and Hospice for their wonderful care giving. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Memorials are preferred in-lieu of flowers.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles, Foley, sons and daughters; Deb (Dan) Sonmore, Circle Pines, MN; Diane (Jerry) Rau, Sauk Rapids, MN; Dawn (Rob) Stroh, Coon Rapids, MN; Chris (John) West, Buffalo, MN; Terry (Janie), Foreston, MN; Tim (Collette), Shoreview, MN, Chuck (Melissa), Chanhassen, MN, 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, sisters, Carol (Norb) Stachowski, Columbia Heights, MN, Marcia (Devon) Grant, St. Cloud, MN and brother, Myles 'Buck' Elwell, Oak Park, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandchildren Ryan, John and Joseph.
