Anthony 'Tony' F. Bursch, age 77, of Foley, died Thursday June 10, 2010 at the U of M Medical Center Fairview, Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Robert Kieffer will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and from 9 to 10 am Monday at the funeral home. Parish prayers will be 5 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Anthony Bursch was born September 12, 1932 in Gilman, Minnesota to Michael and Clara (Chapp) Bursch. He married Dolores Zulegar August 31, 1955 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. Anthony worked at Kollmann Monument for 50 years under three generations. He was gifted and talented, self taught craftsman and inventor. He had a passion for and enjoyed wood work. He could fix any appliance or piece of equipment, and he even invented mechanisms to fix machines. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Foley where he was an usher for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores, Foley; daughter, Linda (Gerald) Bettendorf, Foley; 2 grandchildren, Anthony Bettendorf, Iowa City, IA; and Nicole Bettendorf, Foley; brothers and sisters, Valarian Bursch, Gilman; Paulind (Herbert) Bozych, Foley; Richard (Loretta) Bursch, Gilman; Margaret (Edmund) Jonas, Richmond; Marcel (Mary Jane) Bursch, Gilman; and Ronald (Susan) Bursch, Sauk Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Clara, and brother, Vincent Bursch.
