Tom Monroe, 71, of Foley, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Milaca Evangelical Free Church.  Visitation will be 4-8 PM, Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Foley Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.  Interment will be in Estes Brook Evangelical Free Cemetery.  

Thomas William Monroe was born April 2, 1946 in St. Cloud, Minnesota the son of William and Rachel (Hansmeier) Monroe.  He graduated from Foley High School in 1964 and went on to attend St. Cloud State University before being drafted into the United States Army.  On September 27, 1969, he was united in marriage with Angela Woolard at Estes Brook Evangelical Free Church.  Tom worked for LaVigne's Auto Body for several years then Peter's Body Shop for 33 years, retiring in 2010.  His work was also his fun, with hobbies of restoring vintage cars, attending car shows, NASCAR, and dirt track auto races.  Tom and Angie spent many years visiting Disney World and were able to take a trip-of-a-lifetime Alaskan Cruise.  Tom's greatest times were spent with his family.  He had a special love for his eight grandchildren.  He was a life-long member of Estes Brook Evangelical Free Church where he served in many ways, and was most recently a member of Milaca Evangelical Free Church.

Tom is survived by his wife, Angie of Foley; children:  Chris (Jennifer) of Becker, Traci (Nick) Cavallin of Pine City, and Randy (Jessie) of Sartell; grandchildren:  Loren, Abby, Libby, Claire, Cullen, Patch, Callie, and Jack; sister, Mary Jo (Virgil) Anderson of Fountain Hills, AZ; brother, Ken (Charlotte) of Foley; step-brother, Basil Mielke of Detroit Lakes; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Barb Monroe and step-brother, Orvil Mielke.
