Funeral Services for Myles 'Buck' Elwell age 81 of Foley will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Foley Funeral Home.  Rev. Micheal Wolfbauer will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, October 23 with a prayer service at 6 PM.  Visitation will continue from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Foley Funeral Home. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Military Honors will be provided by the Foley American Legion, Post 298.  Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.  

Myles John Elwell was born May 19, 1936 in Oak Park, Minnesota to Floyd and Irene (Kampa) Elwell.  He graduated from Milaca High School in 1954. He served in the US Navy, Veteran from 1954 to 1958.  During his time in the service, Buck served as an aviation photographer and has several photos on display at the Naval Support Facility Anacostia.  He married Lorraine Thomson on July 27, 1957 and they later divorced. Buck farmed in Granite Ledge Township and also worked for the Benton County Highway Department for many years, retiring in 1994.  He was a member of the Local 49er's Union and the Foley American Legion.  Buck was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed trips to the casino, garage sales, and attending auctions.  Buck will be remembered for his kind and loving nature and would do anything to help his family.  He enjoyed the outdoors and painting murals on his many farm buildings.

He is survived by his children; Donna (Ed) Heurung, Onamia; Lynn Mathis, Foley; Tina Elwell, St. Cloud; Richard (Missy), Galion, OH; Theresa (Tyson) Sautter, Galion, OH and sisters; Marcia (Devon) Grant and Carol (Norb) Stachowski, 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister and brother-in-law, Ardell and Charlie Miller.
