Kathleen Marion Denfeld was born November 27, 1935, the youngest of six children, in Princeton, Minnesota to Victor and Elizabeth (Skrentny) Denfeld. The family lived on a farm for the first years of Kathleen's life and moved in to Foley when she was 11 years old. Kathleen graduated from Foley High School in 1953. After graduation, she received training in business and accounting, and was employed at the Foley Hardware Store. Her outgoing personality was a big asset for her as she knew most of the customers by name and would greet them as they entered the store. Kathleen struggled with ill health all of her life. She lived at the family home until heath issues required her to move to the Foley Nursing Center. Kathleen loved to play cards, especially, Five Hundred. She was always eager to take on any, "Pro" and generally beat them. Crocheting Christmas ornaments was another hobby of hers. Many of her family members and friends were recipients of her work. She was an avid reader as well as being a sports fan.
She is survived by her two sisters: Mary Ann Penick of Spring Lake Park and Sister Loretta Denfeld of Little Falls, as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Robert, Eugene and Thomas.
