Ernestine Mager

Ernestine Mager, age 94 of Albany, passed away October 30, 2019 at The Gardens at Foley Nursing Center.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Monday, November 4, 2019 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Minnesota.  Rev. Julius Beckermann OSB, will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church and burial will take place in the parish cemetery.  Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Ernestine Mager was born October 21, 1925 in Collegeville, MN to Joseph and Anna (Klein) Ritzer.  She married Norbert J. Mager on May 9, 1944 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.  Ernestine lived, farmed and raised her family near St. Anthony.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing and fishing but her greatest joy was running the farm. She was a life member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Christian Mother's.  The family would like to thank the staff at The Gardens at Foley for all their care and compassion.

She is survived by her daughters: Marilyn (Al) Guenther, Paynesville; Helen (Norm) Stachowski, Foley; Bernice (Vic Schmidt) Driver, St. Cloud; Eileen Mager, St. Cloud and sisters: Margaret Christman, Foley; Bernadette Thene, St. Cloud and sister-in-law, Violet Ritzer of St. Joseph.  She is also survived by her grandchildren: Don (Angie) Guenther, Jeannine Guenther, Cheryl (Joe) Woodruff, David (Kris) Stachowski, Brenda (Doug) Stangl, Denis Stachowski, Beth (Ryan) Popp, Karen (Trent) Murphy and great grandchildren: Tony Guenther, Tyler Guenther, Devon Woodruff, Kayla and Darek Stachowski, Erica Gottwalt, Justin Stangl, Haven Stachowski, Makiah, Karissa and Hunter Popp, Ben, Seth and Rebekah Murphy as well as 5 great-great grandchildren and one on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Norbert and brother: Marcus, Adolph, Ewald, Delvin, Otto and a sister, Angela Ritzer.
