Charles Miller, age 85, of Foley, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley. The Rev. Daniel Walz will officiate. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls with Military Honors provided by the Foley American Legion, Post 298.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Parish prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.
Charles Miller was born June 3, 1927 in Gilmanton Township, Benton Co., to Oscar and Grace (Kelly) Miller. He married Ardel Elwell on August 27, 1952 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Foreston, MN. The couple lived in Foley most of their lives. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, Life Member of the Foley American Legion and the Gilman VFW. Charles enjoyed playing cribbage and hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sons and daughters; Debbie (Dan) Sonmore, Circle Pines; Diane (Jerry) Rau, Sauk Rapids; Terry (Janie) Miller, Foreston; Dawn (Rob) Stroh, Coon Rapids; Tim (Collette) Miller, Shoreview; Chris (John) West, Buffalo; Chuck (Melissa) Miller, Chanhassen, 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one sister, Floy (Wes) Thompson, Princeton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings and wife, Ardel, April 13, 2011.
